Team Manager

A Team Manager helps with some of their team’s off-the-field tasks, such as collecting and distributing Information, creating the end-of-game drink/snack schedule, and team communications so the Head Coach can dedicate more time to coaching. It will be up to the Head Coach and Team Manager to jointly decide which communication app their team will use. U12 and U15 Team Managers perform the added task of contacting their opponents in advance of their games to confirm the dates, times, and locations.

Team Play, Sportsmanship, Team Challenges

Team Play
Soccer is a team sport, and it is extremely important for a Head Coach to help their team play as a team. A Head Coach needs to the degree possible, develop each player on their team so all the players on a team have an enjoyable experience. Win or lose, do it as a team, and remember the program’s mission.

Sportsmanship
Coaches, players, parents, referees, and everyone at a game have the responsibility to be good role models and best represent the program. All must make this effort, as difficult as that can be at times, due to the competitiveness of soccer, to show respect towards each other, even in those games in which your opponent shows a lack of sportsmanship.

Team Challenges
When playing a fellow NW team, a Head Coach must implement the following team challenges if their team is dominating. These team challenges must be worked on at practices so the players can, as the season progresses, better understand and execute them in a game. These team challenges will help the players and their team to be that much more prepared for their more challenging games.

* Head Coaches, when needing to implement team challenges, play time must switch.    The less skilled players, rather than the more skilled players, will get the majority of play   time.
* 1v1, require the players to perform various 1v1 moves/feints

* Attacking Space, require the players to create attacking space

* Combination, require the players to do so many combinations before the ball can be   moved from the defensive half of the field to the offensive half of the field, give-n-go's,   overlaps, takeovers, switching

* Drop Back, require the players to do drop back passes

* Possession, require the players to do so many consecutive passes before the ball can be   moved from the defensive half of the field to the offensive half of the field

* Shooting, require the players shots on goal to come off a cross, drop back, or another   creative finishing shots, no straightforward muscle through shots

* Weak Side, require the players to use their less developed foot when dribbling,   passing, shooting
